Frequently Asked Questions

Group Classes

We do. And they’re cute.

Brand new to Pilates? Start with our signature “3+3 pack:
3 private sessions + 3 group classes for $425. You can do all 3 privates first or mix-and-match- either way, you’ll get comfy with the reformer fast.

Done Pilates before? Buy one group class and get the second class free.

Step 1: Download the Kink Pilates app (iOS or Android).
Be sure to add the “Pilates” to your search in the app store. Just “Kink” and you’ll end up somewhere… less wholesome.

Step 2: Find and reserve your spot on the app or right here on the website.

Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your first class to fill out a quick waiver and get settled. For returning students, we recommend arriving at least 5 minutes early to find your spot and center yourself before we begin.

Yes. It’s called a duet. Or a trio if you’re rolling in with two friends.

Planning a bachelorette or birthday bash? You can rent out the whole damn studio for a private party. Let us know what vibe you’re going for—we’ll make it happen.

Look for FLOW 1 - slower-paced, beginner-friendly.

Can’t make that one? Try a FLOW 1.5 and just be sure to come a little early and let your instructor know you’re new. They’ll keep an eye on you and offer modifications.

Want a little more attention first? Book an intro private.

Group classes: If you’ve got a studio membership, your late cancellation window is 8 hours. Class pack is 5 pm the night before!

Privates: 24-hour notice required.

Use the app or website, or text/email us directly. (But please don’t ghost—we notice.)

Booooooo. Don’t do that. Unfortunately you’ll be charged $20 for a no-show!

We love options. Memberships =
  • Discounted classes, auto-renewing, and a solid way to stay committed.
  • 8-hour late cancellation window (the late cancel window for class packs is 12 hours
  • Discounted guest passes.
  • Priority booking! This ones big - our most popular classes fill up fast. Members can book up to 30 days in advance.

Please. Show up 10 minutes early so we can get you set up.
If you’re more than 5 minutes late, you might not be allowed in. It’s not personal—it’s a safety thing.

Grip socks are mandatory. We sell cute ones, but any trampoline-park sock in your junk drawer will do.

Otherwise: wear something you can move in. No jeans. (Please.)

No necklaces please! We’ve had situations where we’ve had to stop class and call the fire department to extract someone from a reformer because they’re necklace got stuck in the headrest. Ok, we are lying about the fire department. But people really have gotten stuck and sadly the necklaces don’t usually make it out..intact.

Yes, absolutely. If a space opens, up to 6 hours before the class, the system will automatically add you to the class. It fills based on position on the waitlist. If a spot opens under 6 hours before, a text will go out to EVERYONE on the list announcing the open spot. At that point it’s first come first serve. Click the link in the text to reserve the spot first and it’s yours! Just make sure you are signed up to receive SMS with us. Otherwise THE LAW says we can’t text you.

Most classes are pregnancy-friendly, except JUMP. Let your instructor know and we’ll guide you through safe modifications.

2–3x a week is the sweet spot. But honestly? It’s low-impact. If your body’s up for it, come every damn day.

This is literally what we’re here for. You don’t need abs or a Lululemon wardrobe.

You just need to show up. We’ll meet you where you are and help you feel strong, connected, and actually kind of obsessed with movement.

Yes. You can call or text us. We respond to text much faster. You’ll either be talking to Sarah - the founder of Kink or Foteini, the studio manager. We are happy to talk to you about anything. Well, almost anything. Please Just don’t ask to bypass our policies. We’re a small biz - boundaries keep us alive.

Think of it like dating vs. moving in.

Class Packs are the commitment-phobe’s dream. You buy a set number of classes (like 5, 8, 12, or 20), and they last for a few months. Great if your schedule’s a little chaotic or you’re Pilates-curious but not ready to go steady.
  • Longer expiration
  • No auto-renew
  • Pay-as-you-go vibes

Memberships are for the main character arc. You’re ready to make Pilates a habit, and you want the best bang for your buck.
  • Classes are much less expensive
  • Auto-renews monthly
  • Credits don’t roll over—use ’em or lose ’em

Ok you want the Studio Policies Cliffs Notes?

Know your specific late-cancel window! If you are a member taking a class, it’s 8 hours before class. If you aren’t a member, it’s 5 pm the night before. If you have a private session, it’s 24 hours. We uphold our late-cancel policies across the board out of fairness. Please don’t ask us to make exceptions. We feel like jerks when we have to say no.

No shows incur a $20 charge. No one likes paying No-show fees, we know. It’s super easy to just cancel on the app.

Memberships are auto-pay. The number of classes you have per month don’t roll over from month to month. Memberships require a 30-day written cancellation. You must email hello@kinkpilates.com to initiate the cancellation. No texts or DM’s please. We misplace those.

Sticky socks are mandatory!

Private Sessions

A 1:1 deep dive with a certified Pilates instructor who actually knows what they’re doing. We’ll assess your movement patterns, imbalances, strengths, and goals — and then start building a smart, strategic plan that makes sense for your body. No fluff, no guessing, no getting lost in a group class.

Some sessions are already on the schedule — just look for ones labeled “Private” and book straight from the site if you’ve purchased a session or package.

Don’t see a time that works? Text us at 781-483-7062 and we’ll make the Pilates magic happen. Seriously. We’re good at this.

Each session is 50 minutes — just enough time to move with focus, precision, and purpose… and leave feeling like your joints got a PhD

Totally depends on your body, your schedule, and your budget (we get it — Pilates is an investment). But 1–2x a week is the sweet spot for serious results. Consistency > intensity.

Not even a little. This is exactly where you should begin. Privates are the best way to learn real Pilates — safely, correctly, and with someone who actually understands anatomy and the method. Come in with zero experience; leave with a blueprint.

We ask for 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. We love you. We’re flexible. But time is sacred and our instructors are professionals — so short-notice cancels will be charged.

Yes, and honestly? That’s the dream. Your private instructor can help you prep for group classes, master the equipment, and dial in your form — so you walk into class confident, aligned, and ready to work.

Both. Our instructors are trained to work with post-rehab clients, hypermobile bodies, postpartum healing, scoliosis, old dance injuries, chronic pain, you name it. But they also know how to build strength, refine technique, and push you — safely.

Comfortable, fitted clothing that lets you move and breathe. Grip socks are required (we sell them if you forget). We recommend no zippers, buttons, or jewelry — your spine will thank you.
